'VALLERY'
1 August 2009
Inspired by this year’s panto, Jack and the
Beanstalk, Jack’s Cows saw herds of multi-coloured, individually decorated,
life-size cow sculptures appearing in unlikely locations.
Each cow was decorated by a Cornish artist and sponsored by local people or businesses.
The Valley were proud to be a part of this and sponsored a cow which was named 'Vallery'. Vallery was on show throughout the summer and during this time had received a lot of attention.
At the beginning of September the cows were collected from their various locations and displayed at the Hall for Cornwall in a 2 day public exhibition, before being auctioned off to raise funds for the Loved to Bits campaign.
Vallery sold for £2000 at the auction, with a total of £38,850 being raised for the loved to bits campaign.
The Loved to Bits campaign raises funds to keep Cornwalls theatre open. The Hall for Cornwall is a charity and relies on funding from main revenue funders, a great range of businesses, sponsors and individual Friends.
