HENRI LLOYD FALMOUTH REGATTA WEEK
3 July 2012
The annual Henri Lloyd Falmouth Week takes place during August 12 – 18, which has now grown into the largest sailing regatta in the South West and is a free event for spectators. This year, the regatta will see more than 450 yachts racing over eight days, with a packed and lively programme of events taking place on the shore.
Falmouth’s amphitheatre-like seaside setting is the ideal locale for visitors to enjoy the spectacle from many ideal local vantage points overlooking the bay.
The week commences with the Falmouth Classics, which will see 150 classic yachts racing in Carrick Roads and throughout Falmouth Bay. This is then followed by a further six days of match racing for keelboats, dinghies, and traditional craft in the waters off Falmouth Bay. Wednesday marks Champagne Day, when the big yachts race with a 25 mile coastal course finishing in the inner harbour.
Why not add this great maritime event to your holiday list of things to do, while you stay in Cornwall cottages during the summer period?
